Police: Texas Teacher Tried to Sell Underage Relative to Moroccan Men

A Texas teacher was arrested Wednesday for allegedly trying to arrange for an underage female family member to have sex with men in Morocco, the Waco Tribune-Herald reports. Amber Michelle Parker, an eighth grade reading teacher at Mexia Junior High School, was arrested after family members reportedly contacted police with concerns about “Parker's intentions with the girl.” It was not immediately clear what relation Parker had to the girl. McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara said family members believed Parker wanted to take the girl to Morocco last month to meet and have sex with men found online. Parker allegedly posted photos of the girl in lingerie on social media to find men who were interested. Parker reportedly ended up traveling alone to Morocco in mid-December and returned to the U.S. on Jan. 1. She was placed on administrative leave by the school after her arrest and subsequently resigned on Thursday. “It is a dastardly story, and it is trafficking at its worst,” McNamara said.
