Poll: De Blasio May Win Primary

The underdog's on top. New York City mayoral candidate Bill de Blasio is slated to win the Democratic primary without a runoff on Election Day, September 10, a new poll shows. According to a Quinnipiac University poll taken over Labor Day weekend, de Blasio is in the lead with 43 percent of likely voters, leading William Thompson, who’s at 20 percent, and Christine Quinn, at 18 percent. A candidate needs more than 40 percent in the primary to avoid an October runoff with the second-place option.
