Poll Results: Have Our Readers Escaped the Recession?

With the economy showing signs of improvement, we asked our readers "Are You Better Off Than You Were Two Months Ago?"

For most of you, the answer is yes!

So why are some people doing well now? One person actually thanked the high gas prices:

Penny Gordon : actually, yes. My husband is in the alternative energy business and he is getting swamped with requests for information and actual contracts for building his company's plant's. This is after 5 years of struggling to get the message out. One caveat - most of his business is coming from Canada.....

Still, other comments were a reminder that many Americans are still facing economic hardship:

Kristine Wanket: No, we are worse off monetary. The higher gas prices and my husband's loss of overtime has meant an unexpected hit on income:

And some didn't even believe the news that the economy was getting better:

Rick Kocinski: The lies from Obama continue, America is headed the opposite direction then what he says, people are losing their homes, and the job situation has not gotten better. Even Yahoo is feeling the pinch. Nothing works on their servers anymore.
