As Dr. Ben Carson doggedly surfs the bloated, shark-eaten whale carcass of his presidential campaign until every last scrap has vanished beneath him, a poll from Morning Consult shows that voters like the soft spoken neurosurgeon with the, um, unique, views on history for Trump’s potential vice president. Carson took 11%, beating Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, both at 9%. Poor Jeb Bush only got 4%, coming in behind even Chris Christie.
The same poll showed that Democratic voters would like to see Hillary Clinton enlist everyone’s favorite frisky frazzled Vermont senator as her backup, with 26% feeling the Bern, followed by current VP Joe Biden with a strong second and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Barren in third.
Neither Trump nor Clinton has hinted at their potential choices for VP as yet.
