Pope Brings Migrants Back to Italy

After visiting the Greek island of Lesbos on Saturday, Pope Francis returned to Italy with 12 migrants in tow. In a statement, the Vatican said that Francis wanted to “make a gesture of welcome.” Among the 12 are six children. Earlier, during his visit to Lesbos, the pope said, “God will repay this generosity and that of other surrounding nations who from the beginning have welcomed with great openness the large number of people forced to migrate.”
