What did Pope Francis do to celebrate his 78th birthday Thursday? The pontiff marked the day by ordering the distribution of hundreds of sleeping bags to homeless people in Rome. "This is a gift for you from the pope on the occasion of his birthday," the Swiss guards who helped pass them out were heard saying. Roughly 300 bags found people who wanted them in the streets, while another 100 were donated to a homeless group for use at a later date.
