Ah! Even the Pope can't resist the appeal of a cute little royal baby.
The leader of the Catholic church had a historic meeting with the Queen today, and after the half hour private encounter, the Pope gave her a blue orb decorated with a silver cross for her eight-month-old grandson.
As soon as we have decoded its significance, we will let you know.
The Telegraph reports that this was was the Queen's seventh encounter with a pontiff. She previously met Pius XII when she was the Princess Royal in 1951, John XXIII in 1961, John Paul II in 1980, 1982 and 2000, and Benedict XVI during his visit to the UK in 2010. Five of those encounters took place in Rome.
Today's visit is thought to be one of the last foreign visits the Queen is planning to make. It was scheduled for last year but the Queen had to cancel with an upset tummy which saw her hospitalized.
