Heads up to illegal marijuana growers: hide your operation before the electric guy comes over. A Southern California Edison employee tipped off Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies to an alleged growhouse that was stealing electricity, resulting in the seizure of more than $12 million in marijuana Thursday. Nine people were arrested while 23,725 plants and hundreds of pounds of harvested weed were seized. Police said the growhouse likely stole $2.2 million worth of electricity over the past decade.
