In a 6-3 ruling, the Supreme Court decided Wednesday that lower courts’ decisions to block a discrimination lawsuit against UPS by a pregnant worker were incorrect and that the woman had a right to have her case considered. Peggy Young sued after she said the company refused to accomodate doctor-ordered restrictions on how much weight she was allowed to lift on the job. “Why, when the employer accommodated so many, could it not accommodate pregnant workers as well?” Justice Stephen Breyer asked in his majority opinion.
