'Price is Right' Model Gives Away A Free Car
A gameshow assistant's mishap gives this contestant a brand new Hyundai.
It’s not often that one feels bad for a model, but this might just be such an occasion. Manuela Arbelaez, one of Drew Carey’s beautiful assistants on 'The Price Is Right'–presumably a stepping-stone to 'Deal or No Deal'–really screwed the pooch on this one, revealing the winning price for a Hyundai Sonata before the contestant guessed it.
As Carey awards the kindly woman a new car, and Arbelaez cowers in crippling embarrassment behind the Column of Prices, you may realize that it’s actually kind of a high-pressure job. Not everyone can cost their employer $20,000 by moving the wrong piece of cardboard.
There have been some rumors that this was a stunt planned by the show’s producers to get it in the news. That is preposterous. Reality and contest show producers are known for their integrity, and they certainly are not concerned with ratings.
