Six-year-old Prince Louis is most famous for pulling funny faces in front of the cameras, but the young royal has taken a turn on the other side of the camera for a new picture of his mom, Kate Middleton.
The image, which showed Middleton with her arms outstretched during a walk in the woods over the winter, was published Monday to mark World Cancer Day on Tuesday.
The picture was posted on royal social media channels, with a message from Middleton, reading: “Don’t forget to nurture all that which lies beyond the disease. C.”
Middleton has previously spoken about how spending time in nature helped her as she recovered from a cancer diagnosis, surgery and chemotherapy last year. She has also emphasized that her priority for the immediate future is her young family.
In the photograph, Middleton is casually dressed in jeans tucked into her rubber boots, a peaked hat and traditional overcoat.
Middleton’s office did not issue any guidance on her outfit choices, reflecting a new policy flagged in the London Times this weekend, which quoted a palace source as saying: “There is an absolute feeling that it [the public work] is not about what the princess is wearing. She wants the focus to be on the really important issues, the people and the causes she is spotlighting. There will always be an appreciation of what the princess is wearing from some of the public and she gets that. But do we need to be officially always saying what she is wearing? No. The style is there but it’s about the substance.”
A second image, taken by Middleton, a close up of ferns, was also published.
