Poor Prince Philip is missing out on the fun yet again. The 91-year-old duke of Edinburgh will not attend the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games on August 29 in London, Buckingham Palace announced Friday, as he “continues to recover well” from a recurrent bladder infection. Prince Philip was supposed to accompany the queen as she officially opened the ceremony but will instead lay low at the royal family’s Balmoral estate in Scotland. Buckingham Palace said his decision not to attend the Games is a “precautionary measure” to avoid another Diamond Jubilee scenario, when Prince Philip was rushed to the hospital with his first bladder infection. After Harry’s escapades this week, the last thing the palace needs is more drama.
