MYSTERY

Pro-Gun Blogger Commits Suicide

Bob Owens calls himself a “coward” in final Facebook post.

Bob Owens, a gun-rights blogger who ran the popular site BearingArms.com, was found dead Monday of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound near his North Carolina home, police said. Owens was married and had two kids, aged 9 and 17. Prominent conservatives, including Dana Loesch and Cam Edwards, immediately paid tribute to Owens on social media. According to the Post, Owens wrote in a since-deleted Facebook post: “In the end, it turns out that I’m not strong. I’m a coward, and selfish son of a bitch. I’m sorry.” Owens’ wife, Christine, apparently commented on the post, writing: “You were nothing but a wonderful husband, loving father and giving friend. You always did what you thought was right even though it was not the popular thing to do. You were never a coward, or selfish, just hurting. I love you baby, you were my world.”
