The Los Angeles Rams selected University of California quarterback Jared Goff for the No. 1 pick, while the Philadelphia Eagles took North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz for the No. 2 selection at day one of the NFL draft in Chicago. The Rams, who relocated to L.A. from St. Louis in January, traded with Tennessee for the top pick. Goff had 977 completions, passed for 12,220 yards and 96 touchdowns during his three seasons at Cal. Wentz, who led North Dakota State to their fifth-consecutive FCS college championship, had 1,651 passing yards and 17 touchdown passes during his senior year. Ole Miss offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil was thought to be a top pick before a video on his allegedly hacked Twitter account appeared to show him smoking a bong. Tunsil dropped to the 13th pick overall and was selected by the Miami Dolphins.
