Quran-Burning Pastor Backs Down

Did Terry Jones win his controversial game of chicken? Florida Pastor Terry Jones has suspended the Quran burning he had scheduled in Gainesville, Florida on Saturday—but only because he thought he had an an agreement with the leader of the Muslim group planning to build an Islamic center near ground zero to move location. However, sources close to the imam behind the mosque, including the man who owns the property of the proposed Islamic center, say that no deal has been struck. The two plan to meet in New York on Saturday. Jones now says, "Given what we are now hearing, we are forced to rethink our decision. So as of right now, we are not canceling the event, but we are suspending it."
