During a Monday appearance on daytime talk show The Real, former NAACP Spokane leader Rachel Dolezal publicly admitted that she was born white, receiving a standing ovation from the live audience in return. Dolezal resigned from the civil rights organization earlier this year after it was discovered that she had been lying about being black. Altough Dolezal insisted to the talk show's hosts that she confidently identifies as "'black," she admitted that she was "biologically born white to white parents."
