The king of clay is officially back. Rafael Nadal won a record eighth French Open title, defeating fellow Spaniard David Ferrer in straight sets. It's the first time any man has won eight titles at a major tournament. This was Nadal's first grand slam tournament after missing 222 days with a pesky knee injury. In what some consider the actual final, Nadal outlasted Novak Djokovic in five sets in a classic semifinal match. In Sunday's final, there was a bit of a scare at the end of the second set when a shirtless man carrying a flare ran on to court. Nadal, visibly shaken, ran away. Next stop: Wimbledon.
