Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel has ordered a “third-party independent entity” to examine the city’s law department Thursday. This comes after one of the city's lawyers resigned after a judge ruled that he "intentionally concealed crucial evidence in a trial over a fatal Chicago police shooting and then lied about his reasons for doing so," the Chicago Tribune reported. The shooting in question occurred during a 2011 traffic stop of black father of three Darius Pinex.
