Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis has died at the age of 82. Davis established the Raiders and had a reputation for fighting the establishment, as when he fought successfully in court to move his team to Los Angeles, and then again for the rights to the L.A. market, even after he'd moved the team back to the Bay Area. He is seen as one of the most important figures in NFL history and vital to making the league successful "Based on personal achievement, team achievement and contributions to the game, no one has had a more profound and lasting impact on professional football," Davis's biography says on the Raiders's website.
