Oh, to be a fly on the wall. Or stable. Senator from Kentucky and likely 2016 presidential candidate Rand Paul invited Rupert Murdoch as his special guest to the Kentucky Derby on Saturday. The invitation was seen as a political maneuver on the part of the libertarian senator to win over Murdoch, whose conservative publications, including The Wall Street Journal, have been less than pleased with Paul. The two appeared to get along quite congenially, but perhaps Murdoch's parting assessment of the day at the Derby said it all: “Lovely, but I’ve contributed enough to Kentucky.”
