Country singer Randy Travis was hospitalized with a "recently acquired" viral heart condition on Sunday and is currently in critical condition, according to his publicist. The 54-year-old had been on the concert circuit, and was planning to do a show in South Dakota on Wednesday when viral cardiomyopathy "hit him." The disorder happens when a virus attacks the heart muscles and causes the organ to beat slower.
