The New York Rangers owe their overtime win Monday night to a player who lost part of his ear in the first period of the game. It would be impressive enough if Kevin Klein merely scored the overtime goal to secure a 4-3 win for the Rangers over the Pittsburgh Penguins. But Klein managed to do so after receiving 13 stitches in the first period to reattach his ear after being hit with a hockey stick. “I don’t know if any of you saw his ear, but he lost a piece of it,” said Rangers Coach Alain Vigneault. “We sewed it back.”
