Meet us in St. Louis. Red Sox right fielder Shane Victorino’s grand slam clinched ALCS Game 6 for the Boston Red Sox, sending them to the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals. Detroit had a 2-1 lead going into the seventh inning, when Boston loaded the bases. Victorino fell behind on the count before roaring to life with the grand slam, giving Boston the 5-2 lead. The Red Sox became the seventh team since 1990 to go to the World Series after finishing a season in last place. They’ll face the Cardinals on Wednesday at Fenway Park. It’s a repeat of the famed 2004 series, when the Red Sox swept the Cardinals to end their 86-year drought. The Cardinals clinched the NLCS against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night.
