After two months of searching for someone to fill former manager Terry Francona’s big shoes, the Red Sox have found their guy. Bobby Valentine, 61, has signed on to be the new skipper, according to Major League Baseball sources. The Connecticut native has a reputation for being a spitfire, having worked with the Texas Rangers and the New York Mets, with whom he famously sparred in 2002. In an interview at Fenway Park last week, Valentine said he’d be “the luckiest guy in the world” if he landed the gig.
