Mookie Betts leads Boston to 7-5 victory and evens up series.
USA TODAY Sports
Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts led Boston to a 7-5 victory over the Houston Astros Sunday night, bringing the American League Championship Series to a 1-1 tie. Betts has had a quiet series of games but came to life Sunday—he was 2 for 4 with two doubles, two runs scored, and an RBI. His performance was hailed with chants of “MVP” from the crowd. “He’s Mookie Betts,” said David Price, the Red Sox starter in the game. “He’s the MVP of our team. He’s the MVP of baseball. He means a great deal for us.” Game 3 will be played Tuesday at Houston’s Minute Maid Park.
