Reese Witherspoon is now denying that there was any kind of drama between her and fellow A-list actress Kate Winslet following an “embarrassing” awards show speech in 2007. “Hey guys… just spoke to my very dear friend for years, Kate W. We laughed about this stupidity,” Witherspoon posted on her Instagram Stories over the weekend along with a screengrab of one of the many articles that named Winslet as the actress who she said “doesn’t like” her anymore after the awards show faux pas. Please do not believe the internet. “We are good friends and have never had any falling out.” She then added, “This is completely UNTRUE… so silly!” Witherspoon told the story without naming Winslet in a recent interview, but offered up enough clues about the speech in question that fans easily identified Winslet as the victim of her awkward “roast” at the “classy” British ceremony. “It literally haunts me,” Witherspoon admitted.
