Reese Witherspoon took care of the big drunken elephant in the room early in her interview with George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America Thursday morning, promoting her new film, Mud. “It was just completely unacceptable, and we are so sorry and embarrassed,” she said, addressing her recent arrest for disorderly conduct and the arrest of her husband, agent Jim Toth, for drunken driving. Witherspoon admitted to screaming, “Do you know my name?” at the arresting officer. “I told him I was pregnant. I’m not pregnant. I said all kinds of crazy things.” So what happened? Well, she said, “it was one of those nights.”
