The human remains found on an abandoned property on Oct. 18 in rural Virginia were positively identified Friday as missing University of Virginia student Hannah Graham. Eighteen-year-old Graham was a sophomore from Alexandria, Virginia, who went missing in September. She was last seen with Jesse Matthew, who has been charged with abduction with intent to defile. He is being held in isolation at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 4. Graham’s parents, John and Sue Grahama, released a statement, saying, “When we first met Chief Longo, he promised to find our precious daughter Hannah and during five long weeks his resolve to fulfill that promise never wavered. When we started this journey together, we all hoped for a happier ending. Sadly that was not to be, but due to the tenacity and determination of Chief Longo, Hannah is coming home to us and we will be eternally grateful to him for this.”
