Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) on Tuesday denied that he ever paid out a settlement related to sexual-harassment complaints after BuzzFeed reported Monday that his office paid a woman more than $27,000 as part of a confidentiality agreement. Conyers, the longest-serving congressman in the House, said he does not know anything about the claims and said he only recently heard about the story, the AP reported Tuesday. BuzzFeed published affidavits along with its story from former members of Conyers' staff who said they had witnessed him requesting sexual favors or touching female staffers inappropriately.
