Keith Ellison’s Accuser, Karen Monahan, Speaks Out About Alleged Abuse

Says Minnesota congressman dragged her off a bed.

Karen Monahan, who accuses her ex-partner Rep. Keith Ellison of physically abusing her, has spoken out about the alleged abuse on camera for the first time. Ellison—deputy chairman of the Democratic National Committee and candidate for Minnesota attorney general—denies he abused Monahan. She told CBS News that Ellison became angry during a September 2016 argument. “He looked at me, goes ‘Hey you fucking hear me’ … and then he looked at me, he goes ‘Bitch, get the fuck out of my house,’ and he started to try to drag me off the bed,” Monahan said. She has not shared an alleged video of the incident with anyone, saying her words should be enough for her to be believed. Ellison responded: “I’m mortified, absolutely stunned that she would say this.” Asked if he ever dragged Monahan off a bed, Ellison said, “no, absolutely not.”
