He just won’t quit. The Associated Press reports that Alex Rodriguez is the only holdout against league punishment, as 12 other players have accepted suspensions. USA Today reports that Major League Baseball is expected to ban A-Rod through the 2014 season. Rodriguez will be in the lineup Monday night against the Chicago White Sox, however, provided he appeals the suspension immediately. If the suspension, which is the biggest since Pete Rose received a lifetime ban in 1989, goes through, Rodriguez will only lose $34 million of the $96 million remaining on his contract.
