The man believed to be behind the series of package bombings in Austin used “exotic” batteries ordered online, NBC News reported. Mark Anthony Conditt reportedly used the “unusual” batteries in the explosives he sent out, which helped investigators track him down. According to one official, Conditt wasn’t using “your store-bought Duracells.” The report came after Conditt blew himself up early Wednesday as police closed in on him at a local hotel; and after he was suspected of sending out a total of six bombs across the Texas capital. Conditt’s explosives killed two people and injured four others.
