Report: DMX Overdosed, Cops Saved Life

Hip-hop artist/actor DMX was reportedly saved by police Monday night after he stopped breathing from an alleged drug overdose. Officers in Yonkers, New York, reportedly found DMX, born Earl Simmons, without a pulse in a Ramada Inn parking lot and gave him Narcan, a common opioid-reversal agent. DMX’s camp claims that he suffered an asthma attack, but other outlets—including TMZ—say a witness claimed X had ingested a powder before the episode. The rapper has an extensive criminal history that includes drug possession, theft, and assault.
