The Federal Bureau of Investigation is now looking into whether Tesla may have misstated information about its Model 3 production numbers as part of its criminal investigation into Elon Musk’s company. Tesla previously confirmed giving documents to the Department of Justice regarding Musk’s infamous tweet about taking the company private. Now the company has provided information to the DOJ regarding Musk’s public statements about production on the Tesla 3. The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that employees have received subpoenas and requests for testimony. FBI agents are examining whether Musk may have misled investors about the company’s business going back to early 2017, sources told WSJ.
