Filipino Sen. Grace Poe has reportedly conceded the country’s presidential election to Rodrigo Duterte, the outspoken Davao City mayor often described as the Philippines’ own version of Donald Trump. According to AFP and Filipino TV network Aksyon, Poe called Duterte late Monday evening to congratulate him on his victory. Duterte has infamously made rape jokes on the campaign trail, promised to kill five criminals per week, and has called Pope Franci a “son of a bitch”—earning him the nickname “Trump of the East.”
