Barbara Ledeen, a longtime conservative activist and close associate of Michael Flynn, allegedly set up a covert investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails while she was serving as secretary of state, at one point even turning to the “dark web” for assistance in the unofficial probe. According to The Guardian, Ledeen has several ties to Flynn, Trump’s former national security adviser, who is one of the central figures in the FBI’s version of the Russia probe.
