Conservatives in the House of Representatives are reportedly “preparing” a new effort to impeach Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, Politico reports. The members were “putting the finishing touches on an impeachment filing” and reportedly had the document on the House floor as he announced the indictment of 12 Russian intelligence officers in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. The impeachment filing could come as soon as Monday, sources told the outlet. The group had been plotting Rosenstein’s impeachment “for weeks,” believing him to be “slow-walking their probe” into FBI agents Peter Strozk and Lisa Page. Conservatives have also accused Rosenstein of “stonewalling” Congress.
