Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke has reportedly said on multiple occasions that diversity isn’t important for the agency. Multiple Interior employees told CNN that Zinke has said he does not care about diversity and that he doesn’t view it as important. “I care about excellence, and I'm going to get the best people, and you'll find we have the most diverse group anyone's ever had,” Zinke said, according to the employees. Heather Swift, a spokeswoman for Zinke, told CNN that “the anonymous claims made against the secretary are untrue.”
