Special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigative team issued its first subpoena to the Trump campaign last month, The Wall Street Journal reports. The special counsel, which is investigating Russian election meddling and possible collusion between Trump associates and Russian operatives, was reportedly seeking Russia-related documents and emails from former campaign officials. Those officials, however, were not compelled to testify before the grand jury Mueller’s team convened earlier this year. On Thursday, the Senate Judiciary Committee said top White House adviser Jared Kushner did not turn over relevant documents to the panel, including emails about WikiLeaks and a “Russian backdoor overture and dinner invite.”
