Special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation is placing a focus on top Democratic lobbyist Tony Podesta and former GOP Rep. Vin Weber, according to the Associated Press. Podesta and Weber are linked to former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort’s efforts to lobby on behalf of pro-Russian interests in Ukraine. Manafort and his associate Rick Gates were indicted as part of the Mueller probe and were charged with money laundering and conspiracy against the U.S., among other charges. Podesta has since resigned from his firm, the Podesta Group. Weber runs a lobbying firm called Mercury LLC.
