Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team has reportedly interviewed Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein as part of its investigation into Russian election meddling and the circumstances surrounding President Trump’s decision to fire former FBI Director James Comey. Rosenstein first appointed Mueller as special counsel, and technically oversees the probe given that Attorney General Jeff Sessions has recused himself from the matter. Before Comey was fired, Rosenstein drafted a memo in which he laid out reasons why the president could dismiss him.
