NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will reportedly be deposed as part of former quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s collusion case against the NFL. In addition to Goodell, several NFL owners and two executives will also be deposed, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. They will also be asked to provide cell phone and email records. Kaepernick is alleging that the league had colluded against him in refusing to sign him to a new contract “in retaliation for Mr. Kaepernick’s leadership and advocacy for equality and social justice and his bringing awareness to peculiar institutions still undermining racial equality in the United States,” a reference to his kneeling protests during the national anthem.
