The Boston Red Sox have reportedly used an Apple Watch to steal signs, including pitch types, from opposing teams. The New York Times reports that Major League Baseball has determined that the team “executed a scheme to illicitly steal hand signals from opponents’ catchers in games against the second-place [New York] Yankees and other teams.” The Red Sox, who are in first place in the American League East division, were allegedly probed after Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman filed a formal complaint. The Times reports that the Red Sox eventually admitted to the scheme, but on Tuesday the team filed a complaint alleging that the Yankees use their TV network’s cameras to steal signals.
