Two women have come forward alleging that John Kricfalusi, creator of the iconic Nickelodeon series Ren & Stimpy Show, groomed them for underage relationships, BuzzFeed News reported Thursday. Robyn Byrd and Katie Rice both claim that Kricfalusi pursued them after they wrote to him as fans and talked to them over AOL messenger. Rice told BuzzFeed that he would call her when she was 14 and masturbate to her voice. Byrd said that Kricfalusi would fly her out to Los Angeles, molest her; and that, at one point, she lived with him as his “16-year-old girlfriend and intern.” She also recounted how many employees at Kricfalusi’s office knew about her relationship with him when she was 17. After Byrd broke up with Kricfalusi, he got closer to Rice, who saw naked pictures of prepubescent girls on his computer while working with him on a project. Another ex-girlfriend of Kricfalusi’s also recounted to BuzzFeed News having seen the images. An attorney for Kricfalusi recognized the fact that he had a 16-year-old girlfriend, and said that Kricfalusi struggled with “mental illnesses” for years.
