Fox News CEO Rupert Murdoch called President Trump a “fucking idiot” after a conversation about immigration, per an excerpt from Michael Wolff’s new book inside the Trump administration. In his new book, titled Fire and Fury, Wolff reported: “Murdoch suggested [in a Dec. 2016 phone call] that taking a liberal approach to H-1B visas, which open America’s doors to select immigrants, might be hard to square with his promises to build a wall and close the borders. But Trump seemed unconcerned, assuring Murdoch, ‘We’ll figure it out.’ ‘What a fucking idiot,’ said Murdoch, shrugging, as he got off the phone.” Later in the same excerpt, published on NYMag.com, Wolff reported that former Trump aide Steve Bannon recruited ousted Fox News chief Roger Ailes to convince the president that Murdoch was going senile and to not trust his “Establishment” advice. “I’ll call him,” Ailes reportedly said in response. “But Trump would jump through hoops for Rupert. Like for Putin. Sucks up and shits down. I just worry about who’s jerking whose chain.”
