A Russian telecommunications firm appears to be providing Internet service to North Korea. According to 38 North, the company is providing a backup connection to Pyongyang in the event that the primary one from China is scrapped amid increased international pressure on North Korea over its missile tests. “The addition of Russian transit would create new internet path out of the country, increasing its resilience and international bandwidth capacity,” Doug Madory of Dyn Research told 38 North.
