A Texas sheriff has reportedly committed suicide in the wake of a state investigation into allegations that he cheated on his law-enforcement training. Erath County Sheriff Tommy Bryant was found in his home, dead of an self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to a report in the Stephenville Empire-Tribune. The Texas Commission on Law Enforcement is probing the claims that he cheated on the continuing-education training. Bryant has held his post since 1997.
