Todd Ricketts is expected to be named the new Republican National Committee finance chairman, “multiple GOP sources” told Politico on Tuesday. Ricketts would replace Steve Wynn, the former chair who resigned Saturday over a Wall Street Journal report alleging decades of sexual misconduct. Ricketts, like Wynn, is a major Republican donor and his family owns the the Chicago Cubs. He was also Trump’s pick for commerce secretary but had to withdraw his nomination after he wasn’t able to sufficiently untangle his financial holdings to meet government ethics standards.
