Report: Trump to Sanction Russian Oligarchs This Week

The administration will reportedly sanction at least six Russians.

The Trump administration will reportedly impose new sanctions targeting Russian oligarchs this week. According to The Washington Post, at least six Russians will be sanctioned, but the number could change. The news comes as tensions between the U.S. and Russia continue to rise in the aftermath of the nerve-agent attack on a former Russian spy in Great Britain. Last month, the White House belatedly implemented congressionally mandated sanctions targeting individuals and entities involved with election-meddling. A congressional source told The Daily Beast that Capitol Hill hasn't yet received official notice about the reported sanctions designations. “Just word of mouth so far,” the source said.
