President Trump’s aides have been accused of ignoring security protocols about classified materials during his transition into office. Officials from the Obama administration cited by the Associated Press on Tuesday said Trump’s transition aides took classified materials out of secure rooms and carried them between buildings, violating protocols that allow viewing only in certain areas. One official who spoke on the condition of anonymity told the AP the Obama administration was worried Trump’s aides were making copies of classified materials after removing them from secure rooms. Officials were forced to implement additional measures to limit the aides’ access to classified materials, prohibiting them from viewing the information in their offices, according to the report. Trump’s handling of classified information has come under scrutiny after a report this week cited U.S. officials as saying the president shared classified information with Russian leaders.
